Donut Worry Be Happy

The theme of Mike's birthday party was donuts.  Instead of a cake I stacked Krispy Kreme donuts on a cake platter.  The favors were donut holes and I made a party garland out of the 'Donut Worry Be Happy' napkins I found on the Internet.  We had Ham and Broccoli Quiche (using up the eggs) as the main dish, bacon and for an extra dessert- Cinnamon Rolls.

What a surprise!  Suzanne joined us.
Then we opened presents.  Everybody had to admit that Laura's present was the most joyously received.  It was a 'Frankie' calendar.  It is full of pictures of Frankie from a puppy to present.  Mike immediately hung it in the kitchen right on top of the calendar Laura had given us for Christmas that had family pictures.  He did not even ask me whether he could hang it there.

Emily and Suzanne gave Mike items to use grilling.  He got tongs and a jalapeño tray.  Later in the week Emily found a recipe for jalapeño poppers.  They were delicious.

After that big breakfast, the family exercised together.  Emily and Laura rode bikes while Mike and I walked our four miles.  We all passed each other on the road.

I really enjoyed Mike's party.  That donut theme was one of the easiest I've ever used.
