Rosie visits

Rosie came for a visit.  Mike and I had heard much about her but we had never met her.  She is Emily's roommate, Dana's, new puppy.  She and Emily and Dana came to the pond last Sunday.

Unfortunately, we were in the middle of a three day rain storm when the girls arrived.  Still they managed to take Rosie and roam around the pond during the lulls in the storm.

First they went stand up paddle boarding.  Rosie was the first dog invited to participate in this treat.  She apparently did not consider it a treat as she immediately jumped overboard and Dana fished her out of the pond from the dock.  Even when Dana got on the paddle board Rosie opted out.

Other dogs were interested however.  Emily took both Frankie and Gracie for a ride.  Gracie spent some time checking out the duck decoys on the water.

Then Emily decided to check out the chickens.  Rosie did not join them.  She inadvertently touched the electric wire and decided she would stay far away from the chicken coop.

Emily took this opportunity to try to teach the new chickens how to use the chicken swing.  It looks like Laurel may be interested in learning.  Only time or another visit from Emily will tell.

The rest of their visit flew by.  We had the Bill, Frank and Lois over to dinner.  They got a chance to meet Rosie, catch up with Dana and visit with Emily.

Rosie had a grand time running around the pond and meeting new people.  However, she is only 4 months old so I think we wore her out.

I do not know why she could not sleep in any one of the four dog beds that are on the floor of the mud room but apparently Rosie has knows her own mind.  She likes to sleep on hard surfaces.  I wonder if she will still fit on the boot bench seat when she is full grown?  She and Dana will just have to come back and find out.
