New Blob
For a few years now, we have been having trouble with the blob (or water trampoline or AquaGlide). It leaks air. It has gotten so bad that we have had to pull it to shore and refill it using a generator just an hour or two before we want to use it. When Sela and Eli were here, they actually went on it a couple of times when it was flat. Definitely not as much fun.
| A flat blob. I actually took this picture of our geese contingent. The blob was just in the background. During the last heat wave about 20 of them came to visit us nearly on a daily basis. |
So Mike decided to replace it. Only the blob leaked. None of the attachments like the ladder or blaster or log was a problem. All we had to do was order a replacement water trampoline. That is when we encountered the first problem. They now come in three sizes. We picked the size that we thought was similar to ours and placed the order. When it arrived we realized our guess was incorrect. The new blob was way bigger than the old blob.
| Here are Mike and Emily pulling the new blob into the pond. We knew at this point that this blob was bigger than the old one. It was a lot harder to maneuver. |
The slide does not work as well as before. In fact we could not even attach it. It is too small. We left it on the bank while we played in the water. The next morning we looked out the window to see if the blob was still inflated. It was. We also noticed the slide. It had traveled during the windy night.
We invited the Hemker's over to test out the new blob. It is a little harder for small people (like kids) to get on the new blob. But even so, the overall consensus is this blob is a great improvement over the old constantly deflated one.
