Some people took advantage of the three day President's weekend and planned elaborate trips. Like Emily, who got a group of students together, and visited Lake Tahoe. Laura chose to spend her weekend with Mike and I here at the pond. I felt pressure to up our normal game for this visitor. On Sunday after church, Mike and I took Laura to explore the little town of Pocahantas. We went shopping in the cellar of a former church building. The new owners of the building are living in the upstairs portion. The shop held a lot of different items. We had fun browsing and I bought some hand painted wood Easter decorations. Then we concluded a successful shopping trip by stopping at Dairy Queen for a snack.

Later in the day, Laura made us another Blue Apron meal that she brought. I had to coax her into the job. I promised her an adult sticker if she completed the job. She wore it the rest of the evening. She actually bought these stickers during our shopping trip earlier that morning.
I am thinking of making up my own stickers and bringing them the next time I visit her house. One might say, 'I removed the clean laundry out of the living room so my mom could sit down'.
Monday was even more exciting. Laura got up early and joined me exercising at the YMCA. We went to a yoga class where the teacher was much impressed with Laura's flexibility. This either has to do with the fact that Laura is a Cross Fit instructor and exercises frequently or the fact that she was at least 25 years younger than about everyone else in the room. We then went home to where Laura made Mike a delicious Blue Apron steak lunch.

As a reward for all her hard work cooking for us over the weekend and for help in moving some furniture in the basement, Mike and I decided to take Laura out for dinner. Since hot dogs were only a dollar at Sonic because of Presidents Day, Mike and I took Laura there. It was also happy hour so our sodas were lower priced also. The weekend concluded on a more normal note. We took Laura shopping with us at Walmart and she did some baking. I'm not sure many other people could have had a more exciting weekend. Although when we asked Laura when she was coming back to see us she was a little vague about her future plans.
