New Improved Road

Mike and I authorized a major improvement to our property this week.  We had rock work done on the driveway.

This turned out to be a very complicated process.

First a dump truck came and delivered the rock. Mike says they had 10 tandem dump truck loads plus one semi trailer load delivered over several days.

On the circular part of the driveway they actually had to make a rock pile and then used a skid steer to move the rock all along the drive.

Then they had to spread the rock using a John Deere tractor.

After that they smoothed out the rock.  The roller on this machine weighs 10,000 pounds.  It also vibrates.  I was inside the house and I could feel the vibration.  This may be my favorite machine.  Our rock driveway is now so smooth it almost looks like concrete.

My only concerned now is that by the time we have any guests, the driveway will not look as pristine.  So I will include another picture just to prove once and for all how nice and smooth it looks now.
