Confusion

This cold weather in April is very confusing.  Every time we have a normal spring temperature day in the fifties or sixties, I start to put away my winter clothes.  Within the week, I am digging them out again.  I have watched the trees and perennial flowering shrubs bud several times only to see the buds die at the next freeze.

Pink blossoms on my walk.  Saw these several days before another freeze

Mike's problem is the lawn.  It has looked like it needed mowing for awhile but every time he finds the time to do it, the weather is cold again.

Mike grabbing his chance to mow the lawn before it gets cold again.
And the dogs are not pleased either.  They rarely leave the house when it is cold.  Mike has to do a lot of coaxing to get them to go for a walk.  But if we have one of our rare warm spring days, it is liked they have moved out.  We do not see them for hours.

After the dogs had been outside for hours I went to look for them.  They had not gone far.
I have even gotten concerned about the birds.  I dug the bird feeder out of the garage so they would have an easy source of food during this still cold fourth month of the year.

At least this dreary winter weather makes for some good outdoor photos.

Just the other day one of my neighbors promised that if the weather finally gets warm and stays that way, she for one will not complain about the heat.  It has just taken too long to get here.
