Oh Where Oh Where Has My Big Log Gone?

In October of last year, the pond level was so low that a big log that had previously been underwater was now laying on our lawn.  Mike cut it into smaller pieces but we still could not move it out of there.  All we succeeded in doing was getting the log pulled deeper into the mud.  (The saw got stuck a time or to also).

The log stuck in the ground in spite of or because of our efforts to drag
it away with a chain and the tractor.  

The log was a part of the landscape for many months until it was not.  It disappeared when we finally began getting rain again this spring.  I assumed it was under water just like that tree stump.

But Mike said no the log was not underwater and sent me and my camera on a hunt for it.  I found it.  

I do not know if this makes our problem of actually getting this log out of the water any easier or harder.  All I know is that if I have my way one or more of the Peterson children is going to help their father move it this time.
