Speaking of Peterson Children

The last time I saw all of my children was at the end of March when we were in California visiting my parents and my brother's family.  Since then they have been kept busy.

Laura and I went to see 'Hamilton' at the Fox Theater last weekend.  I was so paranoid that we would somehow not make it on time that I brought dinner with me.  I made Chicken Pot Pie and Laura feasted on the leftovers for the next few days.

This past weekend, Laura went to a trivia fundraiser at her co-worker Adam's church.  The topic was General Trivia and she was on a team made up of other co-workers.  They decided to name their team after Adam.  They created shirts with Adam's picture on them and even brought a life-size cut out of Adam's face.   Adam's mother and mother-in-law got quite a kick out of this.  Adam not so much.

Anyway, the interesting part is Laura's contribution to the game.  When this question came up, she insisted she knew the answer.

Laura says she only knows two pieces of sports trivia.  One is that the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 after an 108 year dry spell.  The other fact is that we named one of our dogs after Sammy Sosa who was once a player on the Cubs team. Needless to say, Laura's team got the right answer to the question above.  Unfortunately, it was not enough to result in them winning the contest but they apparently had an amusing evening.

Emily has not had so amusing of a time of late as she is in grad school in California and the end of the semester is drawing near.  To add some spice to her life of study, work and study, she has taken to following Cubs baseball.  She was studying at the library the other day and convinced them to turn the TV screen to Cubs baseball just to have it run in the background.

Suzanne has been busy baking.  She decided to bake a cheesecake for her former roommates birthday party.  Suzanne can not just find a recipe, make it and take it.  She has to practice.  So the cheesecake with chocolate crust and raspberry puree that she took to the party was actually the third one she baked that week.  She made one and took it to work.  She contemplated creating an email questionnaire to go along with it so she would have feedback about the cheesecake but restrained herself.  She also made one for Heath and some friends to sample.  Apparently the cheesecake passed all taste testings with flying colors because she made it for the party.  Wish I could have been there!

So everyone seems to be doing well.  I am looking forward to seeing them all together again although I do not know yet when that will be.  As you can tell they are kept quite busy pursuing their own activities.
