Updates from the family

I've been visiting my sister in Las Vegas.  While I was gone all of this has been going on with the rest of the family.

Emily asked that I include a picture of Riley in the blog.  She graduated from Berkeley with Riley but he was not included in the 'Emily's Graduation from Berkeley' blog post because he was not there on graduation day.  So Congrats to Riley too!

I received Lilly's 5th week old picture.  Apparently, she is very patriotic.

Finn, Suzanne and Heath's dog, has a live in playmate this week.  His name is Bucky.  I do not know how Finn is enjoying his play date but I know that the cat has lost his favorite sleeping spot to Bucky.

Mike even had a friend over while I was gone.  The weather was so unexpectedly beautiful (almost spring like) that he invited Hunter, our 6 year old neighbor, over to fish.  The timing was fortuitous.  Hunter was going to a 4H competition on the following Saturday with his older sister.  She was presenting her latest sewing project and Hunter needed to talk to a judge about his topic which was fishing.

Hunter caught a 7 pound catfish and a 5 pound bass while he was fishing with Mike.  Laura was over at the chicken coop and could hear Hunter yelling from the pond, "I am freaking out right now.'  Apparently Hunter is a true fisherman.  He told quite the fish story to his 4H judge who according to Hunter's mother, was royally entertained by the story and Hunter's fishing journal.  By the way, Allison got a blue ribbon for her sewing project which was the two pillows I helped her make.

Laura and her friend Taylor went to Fair St. Louis on Saturday night which is held on the grounds around the Arch.  They went to see Martina McBride in concert.  Ironically, this spring like weather we have been having actually resulted in some cold nights.  Apparently, this was one of them.

Nice to see everyone enjoying their summer.
