Cleaning the Pond

Mike decided to remove the coon tail grass from the pond near the dock.  It grows under the water.  When it is around the dock it catches the moss that grows on top of the pond and then it becomes hard to feed the catfish because the water is covered.

Mike's plan was to use the water mat.  He put on his bathing suit and floated the mat in the water.  Then he swung his arms under the water.  They got covered in the grass which he then lifted onto the mat.

Mike worked hard to remove the grass.  Nobody helped him.  Lois, I and most of the dogs just watched.  Laura had more energy.  She and Blackie went kayaking.

Finally Mike had the water mat covered with coon tail grass removed from the water.

He took the mat over to the shore and dumped the grass.  Then he rested.  I brought him a towel.

The catfish and I are grateful to Mike.  I think the dock area looks much better and the catfish can enjoy their daily meal once again.
