Laura, Suzanne and I picked up Lilly from the dog breeder midday on Friday.  Lilly and her four brother and sisters were all playing in a penned area in the living room when we got to the breeders home.  The breeder said Lilly liked to be cuddled which was a good thing because Lilly has been cuddled a lot since I met her and not just by me.

When we left the breeders we immediately headed back to Suzanne's apartment but first we made a quick stop to PetsMart.  We bought Lilly a dog bed, toys, food, a collar with leash and a litter box.  The breeder had a litter box in her puppy pen and said the dogs were using it but though we tried we never did get Lilly to use it.

At Suzanne's apartment Lilly was introduced to
Suzanne and Heath's dog Finn and the dog they were dog sitting named Georgia.

Suzanne restrained herself from inviting too many people over to meet Lilly on Lilly's first day as a member of our family.  Besides Heath, Finn and Georgia, Caitlyn, Suzanne's former roommate, was the only guest invited to spend time with Lilly.  Since Lilly is not yet house broken Caitlyn ended up spending a lot of her visit in the kitchen because it had a laminate floor.

Of course, the kitchen was needed for actual cooking so we did all move out of there eventually.  I am glad we did because Heath made his famous appetizers inspired by all the cooking shows he has been watching.  They were as delicious as Suzanne promised they would be.  

Eventually Laura and I headed back to our hotel and left Lilly with Suzanne and Heath and their two dogs and one cat.  I had brought a box for Lilly to sleep in.  Suzanne did take it into the bedroom.  

It turns out Lilly did not spend too much of the night in the box.  Once she started whimpering Suzanne took her out of the box and into her and Heath's bed which was shared with all the other animals.  Lilly never slept in the box again.
