Keeping Mike Busy

Mike just finished tiling the downstairs fireplace.  It looks 'perfect'.  Just like I imagined.  Of course, the project is not yet complete.  Now we are waiting for Wills Milling to create the built in bookcases and mantel that will surround it.

I was really glad he finished this project because there were just a few more items around the pond that we needed to complete.  First he hung new lights on the gazebo.  They look great and are really a welcoming sight at night.

Mike also has his regular chores.  He is still watering my garden although there are not nearly as many vegetables in it as before.  Right now we are at the tail end of his jalapeño's and we are still growing sweet potatoes and now Brussel sprouts.  He mentioned the other day that the watermelon plant tried to come back but he nipped that in the bud.

And then there are the unexpected jobs that crop up.  One of those was removing the baby possum from the house garage.  We caught on to the fact that there was one living there because of the fuss the five dogs kept making.  Mike tried to push it out with a broom but when they did not work he had to get a shovel.  After he was able to push the baby possum out of the garage with the shovel, the possum spent a few minutes attacking the shovel before it finally decided to flee for parts unknown.

One of Mike's ongoing favorite jobs is taking videos and pictures of Lilly to send to the girls.  He is particularly good at this job.  Perhaps that is because he is highly motivated.

One thing about living at the pond.  I am never out of jobs to keep Mike busy.
