Catching Up

While I was away in Las Vegas with my sister, Mike stayed home to take care of 14 chickens and 6 dogs and all his other responsibilities.  However, it was not all work and no play.  I know for a fact that he attended Hunter's seventh birthday party and managed to convince his mom and Laura to go to Litchfield just for some Chicago style pizza.

One of his most time consuming responsibilities is my new dog Lilly.  She is still not house broken so we have to keep an eye on her when she is inside the house.  Fortunately she likes to be cuddled so a lot of that time she can be on someone's lap but not always.  Also, when it comes to eating she is a grazer.  She will take a few bites of food and then wander off.  We have to keep an eye on her to make sure she eats enough.  (First, dachshund I have ever had that problem with.). 

Fortunately she loves to play with the other dogs so when he needs a break Mike just throws all the dogs outside with Lilly.  Frankie is the best babysitter but Lilly does not discriminate among her sitters.  She also loves to chew so that can be used as a distraction also.

Mike did manage to get some extra chores done also.  It was really windy one day and Mike found another tree down by the chicken coop.  No chickens were harmed and neither was the coop.  The tree landed on the electric fence though so it had to go ASAP.

Mike says he misses me and I believe him.  He says he is doing everything on my list but I think he is looking forward to handing that list back to me.  It will be nice to get home.
