Home Again

I have returned from my traveling and am picking up the threads of my life again.

The first thing I had to do was start doing my own chores again.  Mike actually gave me back my list of chores in case I had forgotten what they were.  All the check marks on the list are his.  Looks like he did a great job while I was gone.

Mike purchased a Robovac for the basement while I was gone.  The basement gets overrun with dog hair and now that I spend more time down there it drives me crazy.  The Robovac runs every morning and is always full of dog hair- every single day.  I'd say it was definitely a good purchase.  Also, the dogs tolerate it pretty well.  They just ignore it when it is running and making noise.  

I got a call from the Quilt Top Shop while I was gone.  The owner had finished quilting the present I made for Laura's birthday.  Mike went with me to pick it up and then we went out to lunch.  

I also got back into decorating my house for fall.  I ran to town and bought two pumpkins for the front yard.  We still have so many flowers blooming though I just could not buy orange.  Wayne's Produce Market had yellow and white pumpkins so I decided to try them.  

I was also inspired to get back to sewing again.  Of course, before I could do that I decided to redecorate my sewing room.  I had a quilt of sewing machines that I used to hang in my office in Texas.  I got it out and added some Bernina Quilting Pins I collected at my class in Las Vegas.  Then I just had to hang the quilt to show them off.  Well, Mike had to hang the quilt to show them off.  Getting it straight was quite the problem but as usual Mike got the job done.

I also checked in with my Midwest residing daughter Laura.  She could not come visit me in person this last weekend because she was participating in a fundraising walk for Autism Speaks.  At least she had a good excuse.  

All I can say is that it is a good thing I got back when I did.  If I had been gone any longer the backlog of my responsibilities might have been too overwhelming!
