Las Vegas
I have been visiting my sister in Las Vegas this last week. We managed to squeeze in a two day sewing class among our other activities. I even received a diploma.
While at class I was inspired to purchase this book. I doubt I will make what is on the cover picture but hopefully I will make something else from the book.
I also saw this quilt and just had to have it. Of course, they would not sell me the actual quilt but they just happened to have a quilt kit so I could make my own.
I also had my first piece of pumpkin pie for the season. It was delicious and served with cranberry sauce. Homemade cranberry sauce. This was a new experience for me. I may have to try this at home.
The restaurant with the pumpkin pie was called Table 34 and was chosen by a friend of Kathy's because of the reputation of their appetizers. So we tried those too. We actually tried lots of those. Kathy liked the sweet potato tater tots with honey mustard, I like the duck carnitas tacos, Craig loved the Buffalo Fried Shrimp with creamy cole slaw, and Katherine never did tell me her favorite. She had a lot from which to choose. We also had the chicken pizza with spinach and garlic cream sauce, Kobe beef sliders and potato chips with truffle aioli.
Kathy and I also made it to the mall. The reason for the trip was to visit See's candy store. Once a year in the fall, they sell their orange and chocolate wafers which I just love. Many people on their website have suggested that these are good enough to sell year round but so far the See's corporate headquarters has not agreed. So I make sure each fall that I track some down even if I have to go online to do so. Fortunately my visit coincided with their sale so I grabbed some.
These activities in Las Vegas have been fun. I wonder if Mike is having as much of a good time since I left the pond?
