Wind, Water and a Boat
We had a windy day a few weeks ago when the pond water level was very high. As a result, Mike's fishing boat which we thought was high on dry land floated off. That was unfortunate because no one wanted to go get it. When this happens in the summer, I can usually round up a volunteer to get in another boat or a kayak and brings the boat to the dock. However, in the winter, the cold makes this project unappealing and the ice makes it impossible. We cannot walk on the ice because it is not safe and obviously we cannot row a boat over an icy pond.
So Mike just waited until the wind blew the boat close to shore again. He was able to grab the rope and tie the boat to some saplings on shore. Finn supervised.
We thought we had that problem solved until the next morning when Mike and I looked out the breakfast window and found the boat on the opposite bank from which he had tied it.
So Mike pulled up on shore and tied it to the tree. I decided it might provide some photo ops so we left it there.
However, I changed my mind on its ability to be photogenic so when Heath offered to move the boat over to the dock I readily agreed. Mike told him it was not necessary but I said it was negatively impacting my pond in the winter photos so he acquiesced. So once again the landscape from my breakfast window is boat free.

Love Finn suprivising! And what an SAT word "acquiesced". Great post!
