Work Day

Saturday was a work day.  We were expecting rain in the evening and a major drop in temperature the following day so we had the impetus we needed to get some jobs completed around the pond.

Bill's work involved searching for mushrooms.  He has been doing this everyday since he got here but this time he found some.  Of course they are still too small to pick but he found six.

Mike was disappointed that he did not find the first mushrooms but he really was busy working.  First he moved our live Christmas tree (yes December 2018's tree) from the back patio to a spot behind our back fence.  He used the tractor to do this.

The reason the tree was placed behind the back fence is that the 2017 Christmas tree that had been planted there had died and we wanted to replace it.  So while Mike had the tractor out he got a chain and pulled out the old tree.

Next, Mike installed a black iron fence around my vegetable garden.  I had to help with measurement and panel placement but he did all the planning and physical work.  It really looks classy but it is still practical.  No longer will any dogs be walking over my in ground plants.  Now, as soon as we pass that last frost day per the Internet, we will clean out the beds, set up the new elevated raised beds and plant vegetables.

Thank goodness it rained the next day.  We needed the rest.
