Getting Ready for a Visit from the Spilsbury Family

My niece and nephew are coming for a summer visit.  At various times their parents are going to drop in too.  Even my California daughter is coming for a visit.  Once all this was planned Mike and I realized we had some chores to do around this place to get ready for their visit.

First we beautified the place by adding new plants including some red maple trees.

Then Mike cleaned the back balcony.  That is one of my brother's three favorite places to drink coffee.  He has been known to drink his coffee there or in the gazebo or on the porch of the shed.  Of course, after we finished the balcony cleaning he told me he does not drink coffee anymore.  Fortunately he now drinks tea.  So I am glad we cleaned it.

While Mike and I were doing some of these chores, our kids dropped by.  They were not inspired to help us.

Then Mike decided to build a kayak rack to corral all our pond paddle boards and kayaks.  Somehow we have acquired six.  And this does not count the pedal boat or his two fishing boats.  They are taking over Morton building #2 so he needed to find a way to conserve space.

I think we are ready!  Let the fun begin.
