Memorial Day Guests

We had a summer kick off gathering at the pond on Memorial Day.  Laura, Suzanne and Heath came and they brought two out of town guests.  Sam and Brian from Dallas were visiting with Suzanne and Heath and we all felt no visit to Illinois would be complete without a day at the pond. 

The first thing Mike did to get ready for summer was to place an online order.  The item arrived just in time for the weekend. 

It was a new aquaglide.  We waited until our guests arrived so they could provide the manpower we needed to put it up. 

Between us, Suzanne and I provided the food.  I felt adventurous so I used all new recipes for the latest edition of Martha Stewart's Living magazine.  I also made homemade bread and of course used lots of our chicken eggs to make deviled eggs.  Suzanne made us strawberry sangria.  It was a very popular. 

Our guests spent most of the day outside.  They enjoyed observing wildlife.

Mike and Laura even managed to get in a top down ride in the new jeep. 

It was a great way to welcome in summer.
