Well Oiled Driveway

Mike hired Miller's Lime Service from Fillmore to oil our stone driveway.  Our goal in having an oiled driveway is to end the rock dust that keeps coming into our house on the paws of six dogs and numerous humans.

The process begins with an application of oil, water and soap onto the driveway surface.  It can be applied with a hand wand or with the bar on the truck.  The hand wand is used for small areas or near edges like our concrete pads.  The bar on the truck covers everything else.

After this, rock is added.  That involves a different truck.

Then ideally the surface should be smoothed and made compact.  That involves a roller machine.  After both trucks had driven off, Mike went and picked up the roller machine they rented for him.

Then Mike drove the entire surface of our new oiled driveway to ensure that we have protected and prolonged our investment.

I do not know how long lasting it will be or how effective at keeping out the dust but it sure makes our home look classy.
