Labor Day at the Pond
Suzanne, Heath, Warren, Katie, Finn and Pongo arrived at the pond about noon on Sunday. Suzanne had a full day's agenda planned. They did all the outdoor sweaty stuff first with plans to cool off in the pond afterwards. So they went hiking through the timber with the dogs and then rode the four wheeler and then got their swimsuits to go out on the blob. I got a little business done by asking Laura and Heath to bring back the pink paddle board that was floating somewhere on the pond.
After their leisurely swim, Mike and I prepared dinner. I wanted to add a little bit of ambience to their meal so I pulled out sunflower table decorations that I had saved from Suzanne and Heath's wedding. Nobody commented on this until I pointed it out.
After dinner Matron of Honor Suzanne organized her group for more engagement photos. Laura was appointed photographer. They were running out of daylight but from all the laughter I heard I think they were having fun. They even got in a couple of group shots although all the subjects did not cooperate at the same time.
I would say our first Labor Day weekend event was a success. I'm not sure we can make it a tradition though. I'll have Suzanne ask Warren and Katie if they would come back.
