Two Exciting Events

Overall, everyone was happy. I earned a ribbon and enjoyed a glass of wine. Laura got to add two more glasses to her wine glass collection and we took her out to breakfast. And Mike was super happy that it was not pouring down rain like last year.

Once we returned home, Mike started doing his chores. He has a new one. He has added feeding our new kitty twice a day. She is an outdoor kitty. We do not know exactly where she lives other than it is in the timber near the chicken coop. She chooses to spend a lot of her time in the chicken coop outdoor runs with the chickens but does not eat their food. Instead she waits for Mike.
Actually we do not know if she is a female and that is a concern. As our neighbor who is also a vet has pointed out, we do not want to be overrun with kittens. Mike has been trying to befriend our new pet so that we can get that situation handled. He is making progress. She has finally allowed him to pet her! Every once in awhile she even seems to enjoy it. The other day though he inadvertently stepped on her. She likes to weave around his feet when he is carrying her food. He had to work his way into her good graces again but he did it.
Laura's visit this weekend was a short one. I guess she had more exciting activities awaiting for her in St. Louis. Hard to picture compared to all the happens here at the pond.
