Emily's Visit

Emily spent the week prior to Thanksgiving with us.  She spent time with both of her sisters and brother in law Heath, and former college roommate Dana.  She also cooked the main dishes for our Thanksgiving dinner.  She attended a yoga class at the Studio Ananda in Greenville.  And she still managed to find time for a few other things.

We went to the movies in Vandalia where they have all you can eat popcorn.  We went twice.  Emily chose the first movie (Frozen II) and I chose the second (the Mr. Rogers movie).  Emily was by far the youngest person at the Mr. Rogers movie but she said it was better than she expected so I take that as a win.

She also spent time playing with, photographing and sleeping with the dogs.  And she tried to befriend kitty.

She also took walks in the timber with her father and our dogs.  She insisted it was cold out so she dressed like she was going to walk through a blizzard.  At the same time, Mike wore only a lined sweatshirt but to each his own.

On Thanksgiving Day, Emily participated in the Second Annual Peterson Pond 5K.  Unfortunately the attendance was down from last year but we had a new registrant.  Laura Peterson and Laura Flannery had participated last year but they were not in town this year.  Instead Mike Peterson joined us.  He actually finished last because he stopped to pick up his mom's mail from her mailbox.  This did not bother his competitive nature because he actually won first in his age group (the 50 to 59 years).  The fact that I won in mine (60 years and above) did not bother him in the least.  All I have to say is that next year will be a different story as we will be age group competitors then.

Emily left the Friday after Thanksgiving.  I guess she had a visit because she said she is coming back in 18 days.
