Visiting California

Mike and I went to California for a week in January.  While there we walked on the beach, drove thru the desert and celebrated Jackson's 20th birthday. 

Emily and I made music shaped butter cookies for Jackson's birthday even though his mom had already gotten him a birthday cake.  He had a chocolate Nothing But Bundt Cake.  It was delicious.  And of course we played a game. 

It was not all play.  We were there to attend my mother's memorial service.  While there, Mike also installed motion lights at Papa's house and fixed a leaky roof.  I cleaned Papa's refrigerator, grocery shopped and made dinner.  We also spent lots of time with family.  It was the first time my sister, brother and I had been together in one place since Suzanne and Heath's wedding two and one half years ago.
