You can tell spring has come when....

Mike and Blackie resume feeding the fish.  Lilly and Frankie are not sure about the new dock boards so they do not join this activity.  At least for a week or two.  Then the draw of fish food on the ground causes them to overcome their fears.  

Our fruit trees bloom.  The first one to do so is the Peach Tree.  

Mike eagerly takes the top off the jeep on the very first warm day.  Of course, he has to put it back on soon thereafter because spring weather is very inconsistent.  

The apple trees bloom.  

A leaf sprouts on our pecan twig.  Mike was so wrong when he thought this tree was dead last fall!

I can't resist planting something.  So I have Mike buy me some herbs from Rural King and I plant them in pots because, as I know for bitter past experience, it is still too early for these guys to be outside all the time.  

Mike sprays the apple trees so we can head off any bug problems later in the season.  

All the animals spend more time outside racing around and playing in the grass.
