Changing the Sign Post
Mike reminded me that I need to update the city sign post at the head of our driveway. All the cities and distances listed on this post are for family members that reside away from the pond. We needed to update Laura's St. Louis location. She is no longer 68 miles away. She still resides in the St. Louis area but now she is 88 miles away.
Laura moved into her new place on May 2 with the help of Mike and some friends. I came up a day later to help her finish unpacking her kitchen and then Mike and I returned two weeks later to help finish the transformation from unorganized and messy house to a home.
This included hanging new black out curtains in her bedroom.
And helping her set up a basement gym. All Mike had to do was to figure out how to hang the new chin up pull up bar. Laura had set up the rest of the gym area so she can ZOOM for her CrossFit students.
Mike and Laura also installed a brand new microwave that Laura had bought. It was a necessary purchase as the old one did not work (and the handle was falling off) plus her old counter microwave was using up 50% of the existing counter space.
In between the big projects, Mike managed to hang all the pictures and towel racks. I reorganized closets. And Laura set up wood stacking cubes in her office.
By the end of the day, I think we accomplished all we set out to do. We also lived up to the motto the girls and I learned in Girl Scouts. It was definitely a good feeling and Laura was very happy.
