I have been decorating a fall tree for many years now. My fall tree is my six foot artificial Christmas tree with fall decorations. In Houston, I always put it in the upstairs playroom where only I and my children would see it. This year I had to put it in my great room where anyone who comes to visit will see it.
I have to admit I was a little bit embarrassed to put up this tree. I actually waited until my daughter from Dallas came to visit in November and I had her put up the decorations. That way I could always tell people that I put it up to humor her and she wouldn't be here to contradict my story. However, I now find that isn't necessary. There was an article in the local paper the other day mentioning that the library has a fall tree. I went to see it. It is much bigger than mine. I am now proud to admit that I have not one but three fall trees. Obviously, and unbeknownst to me, I am part of a popular and growing trend to decorate fall trees. I was just ahead of my time.

This is the Greenville Public Library fall tree. It nearly touches the eight foot ceiling. This coming weekend they will remove the fall decorations and turn it into a Christmas tree. |

I also have two table top fall trees on the porch at the shed. I started decorating these trees last year when I moved into the shed while the house was being built. |
