Monday...

It should have been a quiet Monday.  My calendar didn't have anything written on it for the day.  Sure Thanksgiving is coming but I had done most of the shopping already.  All I needed to do was wait for Emily to show up to do the rest and she wasn't due until the end of the day.

I had forgotten that Mike had popped his crown off his tooth over the weekend while eating candy over at his dad's house.  His dad keeps 'bit-o-honey' candy in the house and ,at least in Mike's case, they are not good for crowns.  The dentist receptionist said they were being overrun with emergency calls this morning and they already had a full day ahead but they would see him that afternoon.

Prior to leaving for the dentist, Mike took the dogs on a walk through the timber.  Gracie found something to roll in so when he got back he had to rush around and bath her.  Then because we could still smell something unpleasant in the house, I had to wash all the dog beds that were in the mud room.

At one point today, there was only one bed left in the mud room as
the other two were in the wash machine and dryer.
Still I wasn't expecting to see two dogs in such a small dog bed.

When Mike got back we got a call from Lois, Mabel had been missing for quite awhile.  Mike started looking for her around our place but Lois called back to say that Mabel had finally returned.  It was determined that Mabel had found a spot where the deer hunters had gutted a deer.  Needless to say, she was not hungry for her dinner and as a matter of fact had quite an upset stomach.  Emily arrived as Mike was washing all three of the dog beds on which Mabel had been sick.

Things got better with Emily's arrival.  She brought us a cake from our favorite bakery in Carbondale.  It was from Lois and Frank to celebrate our anniversary.  At least, the day ended on a high note- our daughter was home, we got to eat a delicious cake and all our dog beds are clean.
