Christmas Baking in One Day

Today was set aside for Christmas baking.  We also wanted to decorate the living Christmas tree we just bought.  Plus we still had a few chores left over from yesterday.  Emily still had pecans to shell and Laura had the Christmas table favors to complete.  The good news is that we finished all the Christmas baking.

Emily got up early, threw on her coat and went outside to finish shelling those pecans.  

Mike and I helped.  

We did finish shelling the pecans by lunch time which was a good thing
because we needed them for baking candied pecans.  See above.
So far I have used 8 cups of pecans and
we have a lot leftover.

It took us all day to finish the baking.  We
baked 10 dozen cookies and two batches
of Chex Mix in addition to the candied pecans.
So it wasn't until 7:30 pm that we started
decorating the tree.  We immediately ran into
a problem.  We didn't have enough lights.
Oh well, we will just have to complete this task
later in the week.  

Laura continued to work on making the Christmas table
favors.  We are having 15 people to dinner so we need 15 favors.
So far I have only seen 8 favors.  Laura says we have run
out of candy supplies.  Thank goodness I was already planning on
going back to the store for lights.
