Dirt

On November 18, 2014 our builders began excavating for the basement for our new house.  Here it is nineteen months later and we are finally just now getting rid of the dirt they dug up from that basement.  Mike and I are jubilant.  Me more than Mike because now he has another item on his to do list.  He has to plant grass seed on the area that was the mountain of dirt.  And because they had to spread that dirt somewhere we actually have quite a large area that needs to be covered in grass.

The bulldozer arrives about 7:30 am Monday morning.
He was suppose to be here on Saturday but his previous job took longer than expected.
We then had to chew our nails for two more days and pray that it wouldn't rain.
They can't move our dirt if it is mud.

Work begins!

Quite a big mountain of dirt to move.
It needs to become as flat as the backyard lawn in the foreground of the picture.

Lots of progress.
Look at how much more of the pond we can now see from the upstairs balcony.

No more mountain of dirt.
Now we just have flat dirt.
