Christmas 2016, continued

After the Christmas mid day meal, we heard from the Spilsbury's who had opened their presents in California.  I gave Andy, Sela and Eli caps that they could wear at the farm.  They took it one step further and asked if they could wear them at Suzanne and Heath's wedding.  Suzanne said sure.

Heath received a fishing pole for Christmas.  One of his favorite things to do at the farm is to fish but he always has to borrow a pole.  Now he has his own along with the latest and greatest in fishing lures (yes, Mike got some too).  He was eager to try out his pole even though Mike and I told him that a local 5 year old fisherman had tried fishing in the pond in late fall and was totally unsuccessful.

So he and Suzanne and Emily dressed up warm and went outside.  The got out the pedal boat and borrowed a paddle from a kayak.  Emily and Suzanne pedaled while Heath used the paddle to break the ice.  His lure of the day was hot dogs covered in garlic powder.  He claimed to have had a bite but otherwise no luck.

Other popular presents of the day were clothing.  Suzanne and Heath gave all of us matching Christmas pajamas and they gave Frankie, the dog, clothing too.  He got a Christmas sweater.  Mike put on the long sleeve Cubs World Series Champion Shirt Emily gave him (we gave her the same shirt but with short sleeves) and posed with his new Cubs Win socks (also from Emily), his Old Guys Rule hat (from Laura) and his dressed up dog.

Christmas 2016 was a lot of fun.   Best of all we got to spend it together.
