Lots Going On

Last Friday, I was in St. Louis helping Laura get ready to move.  For the first time ever, in Mike's and my vast experience in moving girls in and out of apartments and dorms, we could take our time moving Laura between apartments.  That is because her leases overlap by a week or two.  So on Friday while Laura was working, I packed up her kitchen with the goal of unpacking it in the new place when she came home from work.  Which is exactly what happened.

Then she and I spent Friday night at Laura's old place and Mike drove up Saturday morning.  He and Laura went and picked up the Haul truck Laura rented and then they moved the big stuff from Laura's apartment while I continued to pack up and move the smaller stuff.

By the end of the day, Laura was able to live in her new apartment.  It was all nicely set up too.  That is because all the empty bins and boxes were put in her old apartment.  Also all the pictures and wall hangings were still there too.  That will be a job for another day.

On Friday, Mike was kept busy too.  The Morton building crew showed up to complete the job.  In my absence Mike had to become official photographer.  By lunch time they had added the windows and one and one half of the doors.

They were able to finish enclosing the building by the end of the day but we are still missing a door key, a repair on MB1 and they left their batteries behind.  Still it looks great and now we can get on with concreting the building.

When I got home this weekend I took this picture of my dogwood tree in the front yard.  Looking at it later I see there is something else they have still left behind.  It is over on the left side of the picture.  I will be glad when it is gone.  It clashes with my new building.
