Global Warming

The weather has gotten warmer which means Mike and I can resume our daily outside walks.  Mike goes through the timber with the dogs while I take the road.  The dogs usually only go with Mike for half of his walk.  However, there has been a new development.  Frankie now goes with Mike for the full four miles.

The four mile trip is actually divided into two two-mile laps.  Frankie and all the other dogs go with Mike on the first lap and then they all collapse in front of the house.  As Mike starts his second lap Frankie moves out into the yard and watches him.  Once Mike is almost out of sight, Frankie finally becomes convinced that Mike is actually going to go on this walk one more time.  That's when Frankie sprints to catch up with Mike.  For some reason, Frankie always needs a nap after he and Mike complete their exercise.

So far this year, Mike has encountered a few different species of wildlife on his walks.  He often sees ducks on the pond over by the dam (he always has to look twice to make sure they are not our duck decoys) and occasionally deer along the path.  I do not see any wildlife on my walks so I take pictures of the sky.

However, even though some days are in the fifties, we also have some days in the thirties.  When that happens both Lois and I like to cuddle under our blankets while watching TV.  However, Lois had a problem I did not know about.  Her flannel blanket, which I made for her years ago, had worn out.  She had to cover herself just so or her foot would go right through the holes.  This was clearly an emergency situation.  Fortunately, I had another flannel quilt at my house that I had made awhile ago.  We were able to give her that one and it looks like her feet will now stay covered.

So even though the weather is warmer, it looks like I should still continue to make some flannel quilts.  They could come in handy.
