 Mike's Project

We had what is hopefully our last snow of the winter season last Sunday.  While cooped up inside, Mike decided to work on one of his projects.

We had visited Menards sometime late last year and, on Mike's suggestion, purchased some additional lighting for my sewing room.  When we originally built the house, our plan was to use this room as one of our two guest rooms.  However, over time this guest room morphed into my sewing and craft room.  I actually have my sewing machines set up in my office but all of my supplies are kept in this room and I do everything except the actual sewing here (such as cutting fabric, crafting and ironing.)  Whereas my office has four canned lights in the ceiling and a light attached to the ceiling fan, the sewing and craft room only has the light on the ceiling fan.

We selected two rows of track lighting.  Each track has three lights on it.  I can direct those lights anywhere in the room I choose.  This hopefully will free up some shelf space as I currently have three portable halogen work lights there.  Plus we should save on energy costs as the new lighting is LED.

Mike had to drill holes in the ceiling of my office and spent quite a bit of time in the attic adding the electrical boxes.  All his work has certainly made the room function better and it looks very professional too.

Once Mike finished the lights we had the great unveiling.  They worked great.  Since then I have been doing some crafting in the room and they really help.  If you do not believe me just look at the smile on my face.
