Scenes from Last Week

St. Patrick's Day was Saturday.  The Woburn Halloween Man was decorated for the occasion.  Sometimes when Mike drives by this guy he almost waves.

I made my first apple pie.  I made apple pie filling last fall when my apple tree produced a bumper crop.  I froze it until needed.  I finally needed it.  It was my turn to bring dessert to our church's Wednesday night supper.  I thawed my filling and placed it in purchased pie crust.  I did not get any feedback on my pie from the congregation.  All I know is that it was totally gone and I never got a piece.  I guess I will have to make another one.

The geese are still here.  I enjoy watching them from my kitchen window.  Mike is more appreciative of the fact that they are suppose to be eating the Coon Tail Grass that is below the surface of the water.  If they do a good job of that, he will not have to try to kill it with chemicals this year.

I used my new trail walking shoes.  Mike walks the timber path daily and keeps telling me about all the wildlife he sees.  In one lucky day, he saw one bald eagle flying overhead, a hoot owl, a raccoon, 9 deer, 2 wood ducks and 9 geese.  I walked with him for a couple of days but had no luck seeing any wildlife.  After that I went back to walking on the road.
