Mike's Birthday

We celebrated Mike's 58th birthday the other night.  The girls wanted a Frankie themed party but this BHH (Basset Hound Hater) felt that we could come up with a theme that would have simpler decorations.  Besides, we throw that dog a birthday party of its own as it is.  

The theme I picked was pizza.  Because pizza is Mike's favorite food.  

Emily got him a Berkeley Papa Bear shirt.  

Laura got him another Frankie calendar.
Laura anticipated that Emily would be jealous so she gave her one too.  

Laura brought Hank's cheesecake from St. Louis.
This is a dessert that Mike loves but does not get very often.  

I bought Mike a pizza peel to go with the pizza stone I gave him at Christmas.  Turns out you have to preheat a pizza stone.  Who knew.  If that is the case, how do you create a pizza on it?  That's where the pizza peel comes in.  You make the pizza on this flat surface and then slide it on to the hot stone.  Suzanne is coming to visit and she is our pizza master.  We will have her show us how it is done.  

I also gave Mike his very own Amazon Echo.  He has placed it in the basement.  He gave me one for Christmas and I play music on it.  Now he can play music when he is in his basement office.  At least that was the official reason I gave it to him.  

I had Laura set up his Amazon Echo and I told her to activate the intercom function too.  Now when I want to remind Mike about his 'honey do' items and he is trying to hide, I mean when he is working in the basement, I can still effectively communicate with him.  Both Mike and I are very happy he received this present but probably for different reasons.  

I think Mike enjoyed his party.  Now we cannot wait until Suzanne gets here so we can have another pizza party.
