Birthday Week and Father's Day
Even though I celebrated my birthday earlier in the week, Mike and I still managed to do some more celebrating later in the week.
On Friday which was my actual birthday, I had to admit I felt like something was missing. I needed a cake but I did not want a big one. So Mike and I went to Dairy Queen and bought a small Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard Cake that had chocolate chunks, brownie pieces and chocolate fudge as well as the chocolate ice cream. It hit the spot.
On Saturday, Mike and I sold t-shirts as a fundraiser for our church at the local car show. The theme this year was the movie Grease, as it is the movie's 40th anniversary. The highlight of the day for me was when I sold a t-shirt to the movie celebrity of the day- Didi Conn.
Mike opted not to buy a Car Show shirt. He liked the one that Laura bought him for Father's Day better.
Then it was Father's Day. Emily got us tickets to see the Cubs play the Cardinals in St. Louis. We had to ask the ushers for help in finding our seats. We could not find row WC in section 167. Turns out WC stands for wheelchair. Emily did not know that either. We sat on two folding chairs in the aisle behind the stadium seats. We certainly had plenty of leg room. The Cubs ended up losing the game and Mike's favorite player got hurt early in the game and did not play again but we still had a good time.
The best part about Father's Day is that it did not end there. We still have not opened Heath's and Suzanne's present. It is and Inflatabull. We are saving it until Sela and Eli get here or Emily. Whoever arrives first.
