Easter weekend was a productive one for mushroom hunting. First off, Bill found a natural born mushroom hunter in Heath. Heath kept telling us that he was going to find a lot of them and the experts among us (Mike) kept shaking our heads and saying no way. We were wrong.
Bill took Heath out around our house after an early Easter dinner and starting training him. Heath immediately began finding mushrooms. By the time it got dark, Heath had found fourteen mushrooms. When the girls added their finds (mostly from next to their Easter baskets), we were up to twenty. I sent these mushrooms home with Suzanne and Heath so that they could have the fun of cooking and eating their own finds.
On Easter Sunday, Laura, Suzanne and Mike joined Bill and Lois for mushroom hunting on Lois's property. By the looks on their faces, I'd say they were successful in their hunting and enjoying doing it.
Well, at least mostly everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves.
Better luck next year Mike!
