Pandemic Driven Activities
The Pandemic Stay At Home activities have driven a few changes around here. First, Mike has informed any visitors that they must bring their own toilet paper. When Laura came on March 19, she complied.
Then as time went by, Mike's favorite refrigerated precooked sausages were no longer available at Sam's or the grocery stores. So he had to resort to making his own breakfast. He found my old Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker and bought all his own fixings. Now he makes a bacon, pepper jack cheese and egg muffin sandwich in the mornings. He is talking about adding jalapenos next.
Unfortunately, there are times when improvising just will not do. That is the case with our coffee. Mike only drinks Starbucks Sumatra coffee and he needs this to be whole beans not ground. We were getting dangerously low on our freezer supply of these beans so on March 20 we asked Suzanne to make a Starbucks run for four one pound bags. She went thru the drive through at her nearest Starbucks and created quite a stir with her request. Two employees were waiting at the window when she drove up to get her purchases. Suzanne explained that her parents are insanely picky and this was the only coffee we would drink. In the meantime, I ordered some from Amazon just to make sure we had enough.
On the positive side, I have plenty of time to work on my backlog of quilting projects. A lot of these backlogged projects are for other people as birthday or Christmas presents. And I have been working on these but sometimes I see patterns on the Internet that I just have to make right away. As a result my backlog is not being cleared as fast as I thought it would. In the past few weeks I have made myself a St. Patricks Day quilt and a bouquet of felt bluebonnets.
Thankfully, overall we have not found it too rough to obey the stay at home orders. Although we have seen a lot of the UPS man.
