Sunflowers Galore

On Saturday, Suzanne, Heath and I went to pick sunflowers at a small field next to the Rolling Lawns Milk House.  They were actually selling the flowers as a fundraiser for a new charity foundation called Live Like Lincoln.  It was particularly appropriate activity for Suzanne and Heath as they had been married in August and their wedding had a sunflower theme.

This turned out to be a good idea because while we were gone, Mike and Laura had taken the dogs for a walk and wore them out.  With their excess energy gone, they were more willing than normal to pose for pictures.

This actually worked out better than we had hoped for as Mike and Laura had taken the dogs for a walk thru the timber while we were gone.  As a result they had worked off all of their excess energy and actually were pleased to pose for photos.  Or to put it another way, they were already resting so we just had to add sunflowers and snap the pictures.

Once all the pictures were taken, the adults could have some fun.  Suzanne and Heath arranged the sunflowers in a vase for me and then we enjoyed some of their wedding anniversary cakes.  Heath had purchased a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake from Hanks for the occasion which they shared with
us.  And I had also purchased a Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

We also made sure that Grandma got to enjoy our dessert bounty also.

We may have to make this an annual tradition.
